Jeep Wrangler has long been hailed as the most capable vehicle in its class. But what does that really mean? Why is it so much more capable than its competitors? What features make the Jeep Wrangler so special and unique while maintaining a balance of comfort and versatility? We'll explore these questions in detail below.

To start, just about every single other vehicle in the sub-100k bracket is an all-wheel-drive car. The engine sits front and center driving the car under normal conditions. Most of these aren't made to go off-road at all. Even if they are "lifted," they're not lifted enough to gain significant ground clearance. Without a transfer case, low range, or extra traction provided by differentials or locking mechanisms on the axles, they have tall tires, and that's it. The Jeep Wrangler, on the other hand, is a 4x4 with a transfer case. It does not rely solely on its tires for ground clearance. This makes it inherently more capable than most other cars.

Secondly, the Wrangler is built on a frame instead of unibody construction like a traditional car. This means that the engine and drivetrain are mounted to their own subframe, independent of the body of the car.
